Operation Details
'Buzzard' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive to assist the central leadership of the Milorg military resistance organisation in German-occupied Norway in its programme to assassinate informers and denouncers in the area of Oslo (April 1944/May 1945).
,The two-man party of A. Aubert and H. Henriksen was delivered by air and remained in the Oslo area for the rest of the war. Here it was responsible for a number of assassinations, of which the most significant was that of Major General Karl Marthinsen, the head of the Stapo (Norwegian Nazi party state police) on 8 February 1945, though this led to the counter-execution of 28 Norwegians.
