Operation Details
'Seagull II' was a British attack by the Special Operations Executive to disrupt the supplies of blister copper, pyrites and zinc concentrate from the Sulitjelma mines in the northern part of German-occupied Norway by means of an attack on the Fagerli electricity power plant (5/24 February 1943).
,In what was in effect an updated version of the postponed 'Seagull I' and including the support of the Kompani Linge resistance movement, the six-man Norwegian party of the SOE embarked at Lunna Voe in the Shetland islands group on the Norwegian submarine Uredd, but before reaching Bodø the boat hit a mine in a German-laid field and sank, taking with her all 34 members of the crew as well as the six Norwegian soldiers.
